LAKE CHARLES, La. – Senior Ashley Wheeler and juniors Sakinah Abdul-Aziz and Hannah Naquin recorded top-three finishes to reach the podium at the McNeese Spring Time Classic Saturday.
 
Wheeler headlined the jumpers with a 39-08.75 in the triple jump, good for a second-place finish. Abdul-Aziz placed second in the long jump on an 18-09, and senior Ky Thomas followed in fourth with an 18-04.5.
 
Naquin set a personal record in the 800 meter, crossing the finish line in 2:27.94 to place third.
 
Junior Courtney Crawford led Nicholls in the 100- and 200-meter events with a 12.27 and 24.78, respectively. She earned a sixth-place finish in the 200.

Senior Elexus Allen recorded the team's best 400 meter time, a 57.29, to finish fourth.
