Colonel Football Holds Coaches Clinic
THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University football program hosted its third annual Nicholls Football Coaches Clinic on Saturday, March 31, with numerous coaches showing up to partake in the event.
“I felt like it was a very successful clinic,” said Nicholls football head coach Charlie Stubbs. “We started things off with a great morning of practice, conducting a lot of drills so hopefully the coaches were able to pick up an idea or two.”
Colonel Hall of Famer Gary Barbaro spoke in the afternoon session, not only to the coaches in attendance, but also provided members of the Colonel football team with some good thoughts and advice. Two area high school coaches, J.T. Curtis of John Curtis Christian and Frank Monica of St. Charles Catholic, also shared some knowledge and insight, as did Colonel offensive line coach Mario Jeberaeel.
“Even after the clinic was over, coaches stayed around to share ideas and just talk football,” said Coach Stubbs. “I thought we had a great camaraderie and I look forward to hosting the clinic in the future.”
