Nicholls Nation will be handing out free posters and recruiting new members on Wednesday in the Nicholls Student Union
THIBODAUX - Members of the Nicholls Nation, a student led spirit group on campus, will be handing out schedule posters from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m tomorrow in the union for the first day of classes.
People walking through the union can pick up a copy of the football, volleyball and soccer schedule posters as well as meet some of the student-athletes and cheerleaders. Students can also get more information about Nicholls Nation and how they can join.
"Our student-athletes work hard in the classroom and on the field. They represent the University in a first class way and they greatly appreciate the support from their peers,"
Chris Prothro, assistant baseball head coach, said.
This will be Nicholls Nations' first year as an official student organization and the cost for students to join is 10 dollars. With this payment, students will receive a Nicholls Nation official t-shirt, free food before selected home games if the shirt is worn, the ability to be selected for half-time events and chances to win free prizes as well as other perks to be added throughout the year.
"Nicholls Nation is a great opportunity to get involved on campus while showing support for all of our athletic teams," Katelyn Thibodeaux, Nicholls Nation secretary, said.
