HOUMA, La. – Several members of the Nicholls State University football program made the short trip to Houma on Saturday to participate in the 12th Annual Summer Fun Kids Day.

Nicholls players Kenyad Blair, LaQuintin Caston, Shawn Elrod, Jesse Turner and Marcus Washington were all on hand to take pictures, sign autographs and hand out the Colonels' 2011 football schedule poster.

Over 300 kids showed up at the Houma-Terrebone Civic Center for the annual event, which featured interactive booths, a rock climbing wall, bounce houses and live entertainment sponsored by Synergy Bank.

The Colonels had a great time interacting with the kids and want to thank all who attended the event.

Nicholls will open up the 2011 season on Sept. 1 when the Colonels host Evangel University for its Blackout Game. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
